Jim has been working at camps and retreat centers as the Executive Director for the last 14 years in Michigan and most recently in California. Prior to that, he was an Elementary School teacher in the inner cities of Los Angeles and Toledo. Jim met his wife, Barbara when they served together as missionaries in an international Christian theater company over 30 years ago. They are the parents of three adult sons, and two wonderful daughters-in-law. Jim is a a native of northwest Ohio, graduated from Bowling Green State University with a BS in Education, and is excited to be a part of the ministry team at Lake Louise!
Neil graduated from Ferris State University with a degree in Hospitality Management in 2015. He was an intern with Lake Louise his Junior and Senior years of college gaining experience that proved to be beneficial to his education and his time as the Director of Food Services at Lake Louise. During his time at Lake Louise he quickly discovered the peace and happiness that can be found in this community. Neil is lifelong United Methodist and has had the opportunity to build connections in a wide variety of ways. He is excited to bring his passion to Lake Louise Christian Community and is dedicated to working with the staff and volunteers to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
Cheryl brings over 30 years of experience, with 15 years in the accounting field, to Lake Louise. Her meticulous attention to our finances is a blessing. Cheryl feels that as Financial Director and Office Manager, Lake Louise offers her the opportunity to utilize the breadth and depth of her skill set, and she enjoys working with the Lake Louise community. The beauty of Lake Louise and our offices nestled in the trees offer her a deep and abiding sense of place that inspires her work. In 2006, Cheryl and her husband Rick moved to Vanderbilt, building their home about 3 miles from Lake Louise. Before moving to Northern Michigan, Cheryl ran a day care from home for seven years, and for another seven worked in the Grand Blanc & GISD School systems in Genesee County. She worked with children in elementary school - high school, and often many of those children had special needs. Common to all her most fulfilling work, including being part of the Lake Louise team, is the ability to make a positive difference in the lives of children.
Myke has been the Operations Director at Lake Louise for seven years. Previously, he was a general contractor and built many structures around the lake. A Northern Michigan native, Myke and his wife Kathy have lived around the corner from camp for over 30 years. One of Myke's passions at Lake Louise is organizing and overseeing the community service work for Boyne Country Service Project Retreats. Myke works hard to build and strengthen the Boyne area communities, and considers it an honor to work alongside Lake Louise volunteers and staff making a difference in people's lives.
Amy is a graduate of the Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts Institute of Scottsdale, Arizona, and has over 20 years of professional cooking experience. Amy's passion for delicious and healthy food began in her grandmother's kitchen and cooking for family and friends, and continues to grow as she explores the different food cultures and cuisines of the world. Also a mother of an adult daughter, a Michigan native, and lifelong Christian, Amy is looking forward to working with staff and volunteers to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
