Lake Louise invites you to step back from the busyness of regular routines, and to pause, breathe deeply, and embark upon a time to play, reflect, and be intentional about life and your relationships in Northern Michigan. Immersing yourself in creation, your spirits are restored and reconnected with that which is larger than yourself.
Let breezes brush against your skin and float through your hair as you walk in the woods, claim life-giving conversation around a campfire, or just sit and gaze across the lake. At night, vibrant, twinkling stars adorn the darkened sky and draw your eyes and thoughts heavenwards.
Lake Louise offers guests the complimentary use of Strong Chapel, a waterfront with kayaks, athletic fields for softball, soccer, and sand volleyball, courts for gaga ball and basketball, places to relax, daydream, or read, trails for hiking, biking, cross-country skiing, and snow shoeing, hills for sledding, an outdoor amphitheater with firepit overlooking the lake, and multiple firepits for roasting marshmallows and sharing the time honored tradition of gooey smores! Adventures abound and await your exploration.
We also offer areas for meetings, programs, and/or socializing year-round. For those staying in the Retreat Center, there are two lounges offering stone fireplaces surrounded by sofas and chairs for you to relax, nap, curl up and read, and share in late night conversations. For an additional fee, the dining hall, Horner Center, and Tennant Chapel are available for groups. Provided your group is the only one at Lake Louise, the dining hall may be set-up to share programs and dinner meetings, complete with monitor and sound system that connects with your computer (do not forget the cables). An indoor, unheated hall offers a stage, stone fireplace, and permanent labyrinth for worship and other spiritual endeavors, or large group meetings. And, Tennant Chapel offers groups the opportunity to gather together for soul nurturing worship.
Nearby, the local Boyne Falls, Boyne City, Gaylord, Petoskey, Charlevoix area offers a variety of year-round attractions for all ages. You'll find snowsports at Boyne Mountain, Boyne Highlands, and Nubs Nob; water park adventures at Boyne Mountain's Avalanche Bay, ziplining at Wildwood Rush and Boyne Mountain, golf courses throughout the area and a diverse selection of dining cuisine for the discerning palate.
