Welcome to Elementary Bears Camp!

We are so glad you are going to be a part of our Elementary Bears Camp - either as a Teddy Bear, Black Bear or Polar Bear. This camp is highly successful (we have gone from 17 campers to 90 in two years). We are successful because both children and adults have a wonderful experience.

Here are some things you will want to know:

Teddy Bears: Teddy Bears come with an adult (parent, aunt, uncle, grandparent etc.) and stay together almost the entire time from Sunday through Tuesday.

Bring:

  • Clothes for hot and cold (you never can tell)
  • Closed toe shoes for the hiking
  • Bathing suit
  • You will stay in the retreat center so you will not need bedding or towels but an extra beach towel is a good idea

Black Bears: Black Bears come with an adult (parent, aunt, uncle, grandparent etc.) but they sleep in separate cabins (the campers stay with adult counselors in a cabin) Your camp is from Sunday through Wednesday.

Bring:

  • Clothes for hot and cold (you never can tell)
  • Closed toe shoes for the hiking
  • Bathing suit and towels (probably 2)
  • Bring bedding because the campers will stay in cabins that are not provided with bedding and the parents may - just depends on our numbers
  • A Bible for the adult
  • flashlight
Special Note: We are planning lots more special options for the adults. A list of choices will come just before camp - probably by email. We will have an adult coordinator for the adults that can help you.

Polar Bears: Polar Bears come on their own. Their camp is from Sunday through Saturday. We have an excellent counselor staff for this group.

Bring:

  • Clothes for hot and cold (you never can tell)
  • Closed toe shoes for the hiking
  • Bathing suit and towels (probably 2)
  • Bring bedding because the campers will stay in cabins that are not provided with bedding
  • A Bible
  • flashlight
  • sunscreen
  • mosquito repellent

Other Information:

  • 1. If you have more than one child at camp of different ages you can stay in the retreat center for an additional fee and the younger child can join you when their camp is over.
  • 2. We have a Facebook Page that will contain updated information as we get closer to camp: Lake Louise Elementary Camp
  • 3. Our food is GREAT!
  • 4. We ask that all adults stay on the camp grounds.
  • 5. We will have a camp nurse
  • 6. Our theme at Lake Louise this summer is:
    • a. FIT: Physically FIT, Spiritually FIT and FIT to Serve
    • b. We will be giving your child a good start on these topics that you can continue at home.
    • We always think in terms of how we can partner with parents!
  • 7. We have a wonderful beach and a clean, beautiful lake.
  • 8. We have great hiking paths.
  • 9. Cell Phone reception is spotty and seems to be the best with AT&T customers

We have created the Lake Louise Giving Tree. The Giving Tree is a list of items big and small, costly and inexpensive that are needed in our operation. The Giving Tree is a registry listed on Amazon.com. How can you help? Go to the giving Tree and see if there is not something there that you can purchase as a gift to Lake Louise.
